Cape Fear Eye Food & Toy Drive 2017

Many THANKS to Cape Fear Eye Staff and our Incredible Patients for your generosity and participation in our 2017 Christmas Food and Toy drive.

This year, Cape Fear Eye Associates participated in the Ronald McDonald House Wishing Tree Holiday Project and Seasonal Wish List Drive, which supports seriously-ill children and their families during the holidays. All food, toys and over $380.00 monetary contributions were donated to our local Ronald McDonald House (Durham & Wake).

Since 1974, the Ronald McDonald House programs offer rooms for families of pediatric patients 21 years old and younger. For most Houses, families may stay as long as their child remains in active treatment. Stays can be as short as one night or as long as several months, and sometimes extend to a year or more, depending on the child's illness and treatment.

The Ronald McDonald House has local Chapters in more than 64 countries and regions around the world and serves more than 5.5 million children and families yearly.

Although local McDonald's restaurant owner/operators generously fund portions of the annual operating costs of the Houses, the majority of the annual operating income comes from individual and other corporate donors.

A very special THANK YOU goes out to Cape Fear Eye staff member, Kelly Sanchez for her personal donation this Christmas, which provided a family in need housing for an entire week.

Thank you again to everyone who participated and for making a difference this Holiday Season.
